- There are two ways of installing the Vibe Browser app (USB or using inbuilt Android tools)
If you prefer to install using a USB drive, please follow these steps before mounting the display.
This article explains how to install & setup the Digital Signage app on your Philips (Powered by Android) display:

- Install the Vibe Browser app in one of two ways:
- Install using onscreen tools (recommended)
- Install using a USB drive
- Set the Digital Signage app to launch on startup
- Configure / Setup the Digital Signage App
Note: it is recommended that you have a Wireless (USB) Keyboard & Mouse to perform this operation. Plug the USB receiver into the USB port..
Supported Philips models
Purchase one of the following supported Philips Signage Solutions models (Powered by Android):
- D-Line series (e.g. XXBDL4050D/00)
NB: If you are unsure, please contact our support team before completing your Philips product purchase
First-time setup
- Slide the remote sensor down (until you hear the click sound) to have better remote control performance and easily observe the power status. It is located at the rear of the tv in the bottom left corner.
- Use the remote to power on the Philips display and follow the first time setup wizard:
Language Choose your preferred language, then select [Start] Network Settings Choose WIFI or Ethernet
If using a fixed connection, plug the ethernet cable in and select [SKIP]. For wireless, choose an available network, enter the password and select [NEXT]
Choose DHCP unless you have a Static IPSignage Display Settings Select [SKIP] Clone Media files into internal Select [SKIP] - Accept the CMND & DEPLOY terms and conditions
Use remote to scroll to the bottom, tick the I accept checkbox and select [Continue]
IMPORTANT: If the CMND&Deploy option is not available, follow these instructions - SKIP to step 2.4 in the "Install the Vibe Browser app" section below
Install the Vibe Browser app
To launch your interactive touchscreen (or Electronic Document Library), please download and install the Digital Signage app on your Philips System-On-Chip (Android) display.
To do this, please check the installation checklist, then select your preferred install method below:
Install using onscreen tools
To install the Vibe Browser app (APK file) on your Philips commercial (SoC) display:
- Power on the Philips commercial display
TIPS: 1) See First-time Setup 2) Connect a wireless/wired keyboard and mouse (optional) - Launch the CMND&Deploy app:
- To enter Admin Mode, press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8”
- Choose Apps
- In the Apps menu, choose CMND&Deploy
IMPORTANT: If the CMND&Deploy option is not available, choose Chromium and follow these instructions - In the address bar, remove https://, enter the full URL below and select GO

- When the Vibe Browser app settings appear onscreen, enter the custom URL provided via email and select [SAVE] to launch your interactive (touchscreen) site.

Alternative install guide using Chromium
- Power on the Philips commercial display
TIPS: 1) See First-time Setup 2) Connect a wireless/wired keyboard and mouse (optional) - To launch Chromium:
- Enter Admin Mode - press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” on the remote
- Choose Apps
- In the Apps menu, choose Chromium
IMPORTANT: If the CMND&Deploy option is available, follow these instructions
- In the address bar, enter the URL below and select Enter
http://www.website.co.nz/philips/apk/vibebrowser.zip - When the file has successfully downloaded, push the return/back button on the remote to return to the Apps menu
- Navigate to and open the File Manager
- Open the 'sdcard' folder
- Open 'Download' folder
- Open the 'vibebrowser.zip' file and click OK to extract the app files
- When the files have extracted successfully, open the vibebrowser.apk file and click [INSTALL]
- When the app is successfully installed, choose [DONE]
- Push the Return/Back button on the remote until you return to the Apps menu
- Select [Vibe Browser] and push OK on the remote to open the app
- When the Vibe Browser app settings appear onscreen, enter the custom URL provided via email and select [SAVE] to launch your interactive (touchscreen) site.

Install using a USB drive
- Create a new folder on your USB drive:
- Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer and create a new MNT folder.
- Download the latest app version from http://www.website.co.nz/philips/apk/vibebrowser.apk
- When the download is complete, eject your USB flash drive.
- Install the Vibe Browser app (APK file) on your Philips display
- Power on the Philips commercial display
TIPS: 1) See First-time Setup 2) Connect a wireless/wired keyboard and mouse (optional) - Plug the USB drive into the USB input
- To locate the APK file on your USB drive:
- To enter Admin Mode, press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8”
- Choose Apps
- Navigate to the File Manager and:
- Open the MNT > usb_storage folder
- Locate the app.apk file on your USB drive, push OK on the remote and select [OPEN]
NB: If you see a 'Folder permission' error onscreen, move your USB drive to another USB port - Choose [INSTALL]
- When the app is successfully installed, choose [DONE]
- Push the Return button on the remote until you return to the Apps menu
- Select [Digital Signage] and push OK on the remote to open the app
- When the Vibe Browser app settings appear onscreen, enter the custom URL provided via email and select [SAVE] to launch your interactive (touchscreen) site.

- Power on the Philips commercial display
Load the Vibe Browser app on startup:
- Power on the Philips commercial display
- To launch Admin Mode - press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” on the remote
- Open Settings
- Open Signage Display > Custom app
- Highlight Select App and press OK on the remote
- Choose Vibe Browser
- Select Save
- To test that the app will autostart, push the Source button on the remote, select Custom and push [OK]
- To set Custom as the default source when the screen is powered on:
- Push the Home button on the remote
- Navigate to Configuration 1
- Open Boot on source and select Action
- Choose Custom
- Push the Return button on the remote to exit the menu
- Power off the display, wait 10-15 seconds
- Power on the display and wait for the Digital Signage app to run
