The Date Time Overlay is an optional theme setting that automatically adds the current time and date to all slides by default.
The overlay updates automatically in real time and can be customised to suit your theme. You can control its position, format, and style, or allow individual slides to override the theme defaults when needed.
Enable the Date Time Overlay
- In the Vibe Admin Console, open Settings → Themes.
- Open the theme you’d like to edit.
- In the Date Time Overlay section, enable the Show? toggle.

Design Guide & Best Practices
Expected Behaviour for Date Time Overlay
Vibe shows the based on the time zone of each device. When you’re previewing slides (including using the 'Preview As' dropdown), you’ll see the date/time in your own local time zone — it won’t switch to another screen’s time zone. As long as each screen’s time zone is set correctly in its system settings, everything will show up at the right time, wherever it is in the world.
Theme vs. Slide Settings
While the
Date & Time Overlay is controlled at the theme level, content creators can hide or
customise it's position, background and text colour. This allows flexibility if a slide already includes a date or time within its design.
Vibe content creators should enable slide-level overrides only where needed (to reduce manual work).
Overlay Position & Info Bar Behaviour
When the
info bar is visible, the Date Time overlay repositions to avoid overlap.
- If the overlay position is Bottom Center, it will sit above the info bar, leaving a small gap between them.

- If the overlay position is Bottom left or Bottom right, the overlay aligns within the info bar area and uses the same height, so both elements appear visually integrated.

Meeting Room Themes
The overlay is automatically disabled for
meeting room displays as Microsoft Teams Meeting Rooms automatically show date and time information.
Theme Design Tips
- Use high-contrast colours for readability over different backgrounds.
- Avoid positioning that might overlap with important content.
- Keep formatting consistent across themes for a polished network look.
