LG WebOS (Media Player Box) - Troubleshooting
For when the screen isn't displaying Vibe content:
-
Check power is on
Make sure both the device and the TV are powered on.
Look for power indicator lights on both devices.
Confirm correct HDMI connection
-
The HDMI cable should be plugged into the HDMI OUT port on the device.
-
The other end should be plugged into the HDMI 1 port on the TV (unless you're using a different port intentionally — just make sure you match the input selection on the TV).
Verify HDMI cable functionality
-
If there’s still no display, try using a different HDMI cable to rule out a faulty one.
-
Avoid long or low-quality HDMI cables that can cause signal issues.
Double-check TV input source
-
Using the TV’s original remote, switch to HDMI 1 (or the port your device is connected to).
-
If you're using a universal remote (e.g., LG Magic Remote), you may be controlling the Media Player Box by default — make sure you switch the remote control mode to operate the TV.
Launch the Vibe app manually
-
If the screen shows the home interface instead of Vibe, press the Home button on the LG WebOS remote.
-
Use the directional buttons to locate and launch the Vibe app manually.
Reboot both devices
-
Power off the device and the TV. Wait 10 seconds, then turn them back on.
-
Sometimes a simple restart resolves connection or display issues.
Check for firmware or app updates (optional advanced step)
-
If issues persist, open the Settings on the device and check for system or Vibe app updates (this requires network access).
-
This maybe best done by an administrator or with Vibe support guidance.
