Common checks for when slides don't show on screen
If a slide isn’t appearing on screen as expected, here are the most common things to check:
Check the Playlist
This is the most common source of visibility issues.
- Make sure the slide is assigned to the correct playlist.
- Check for list items in the slide that are actively assigned to the screen or playlist.
To confirm:
- Go to the playlist that’s assigned to the location.
- Click Preview as and select the screen/location you're troubleshooting.
- Look at the right-hand panel — this shows what content is displaying.
Check for alerts:
- "This slide may not currently be visible or may not contain any content for this location" → There are no active list items assigned to that location.
- "This slide hasn't been generated yet" → The slide is still processing. Wait about 10 minutes and refresh.
Check the Slide Duration
If a slide shows up only briefly or skips content:
- Open the slide and check the Duration setting.
- Ensure it’s long enough to show all items or animations in the slide.
Tip: If your slide includes multiple content items, make sure the duration is set appropriately for that content to cycle through.
Check the Number of Items
Ensure that the number of items allowed or set to display isn't limited too low.
For example, if only 1 item is showing out of 5, double-check the item limit is 5 or above.

Check the Advanced Schedule
If a slide was previously visible but no longer shows:
- Open the slide and check if Advanced Scheduling is turned on.
- If it is:
- Confirm the Start and End times.
- The slide will only appear during the scheduled time window.
Tip: If you want the slide to show all day, remove the schedule or set it from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM.
