Install Guide - WebOS3.2 & WebOS 4.0+

Note: it is recommended that you have a Wireless (USB) Keyboard & Mouse to perform this operation. Plug the USB receiver into the USB port on the LG (webOS) display.

Supported LG Models

If you have purchased one of the following supported LG digital signage models, please use the setup steps below: 

  1. webOS 4.1 - UM3DF series
  2. webOS 4.0 - SM5KE Series
  3. webOS 3.2 / webOS 3+ - SM5KD Series (32/43/49/55/65 inch)
  4. LG Digital Signage WebOS WP400

First Time Setup

For LG Commercial screens

  1. Remove the badge from the base of the screen (Screwdriver required)
  2. Turn TV on and
    1. Follow the WebOS Wizard in setting up the screen
      1. Use the remote to open the TV Settings and select General > Date & Time to change the date to 'Set Automatically'
      2. Change region to the correct location (e.g. Oceania > New Zealand)
      3. Change White Balance to Mall/QSR 
  3. Connect to a wired (recommended) or wireless network connection

For LG Digital Signage WebOS box

  1. Remove from packaging and connect;
      1. The power cable
      2. HDMI cable to the HDMI port and to the HDMI 1 port on the display
      3. Remote sensor to the IR IN port,
      4. LAN cable (if not using Wifi)
  2. Turn TV on, checking that input is from HDMI 1
    1. Follow the WebOS Wizard in setting up the screen
      1. Use the remote to open the TV Settings and select General > Date & Time to change the date to 'Set Automatically'
      2. Change region to the correct location (e.g. Oceania > New Zealand)
  3. Connect to a wired (recommended) or wireless network connection

Install the Vibe.fyi player app

To launch your visual communication channel, download and install the Vibe.fyi player app on your LG SoC commercial display or media player.

Install using the LG EZ > SI Server Settings

Before you proceed with the install steps below:
1) Read the Install Checklist - Hardware & Network Requirements
2) Set the correct timezone (date/time) in the LG General settings 

  1. Power on your LG display
  2. Follow the first time setup steps
  3. Open the LG Server Settings
    1. Press the Settings () button on the remote
    2. In the Settings menu, locate and open EZSettings > SI Server Settings

  4. In the Server settings, apply the following settings to download the Vibe.fyi player app:
    1. Application Launch Mode - Select Local

    2. Fully Qualified Domain Name - Select ON and enter the Vibe.fyi player app download URL - https://www.digitalcomms.nz/webos/app.ipk 
      NB: This URL is designed for LG SM5KC series/WebOS3.0, SM4KD series/WebOS 3.2 and SM4KE series/4.0 screens only
    3. File Type - Select IPK
    4. Local Application Upgrade - Select Remote

    5. Select Confirm

      Note: A message will appear on the screen confirming that the Digital Signage for LG WebOS client installation has been successful
    6. Turn the TV off if the app download is successful. Then turn it back on.
      Note: The Digital Signage app will automatically start after the TV is powered on. Please wait a few seconds until a green screen appears.

Install using a USB storage device

Create a new folder on your USB drive:
  1. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer and create an Application folder
  2. Download the latest app version from https://www.digitalcomms.nz/webos/com.lg.app.signage.ipk
  3. When the download is complete, eject your USB flash drive

  4. Next,
    1. Insert the USB device into the USB port on your LG WebOS screen
    2. Using the remote, power the display on and open EZSettings > SI Server Settings
      1. Set Application Launch mode to Local
      2. Set Application Type to IPK
      3. Set Location Application Upgrade to USB

      4. Select [Confirm] to start the install
      5. When the installation is complete, use the remote to power the screen off then on and wait a few seconds for the app to launch

Configure / Setup the Vibe.fyi player app

Haven't received app settings? Contact support@vibe.fyi 

After the app has downloaded successfully and you've restarted your screen, wait for the app to load before carrying out the steps below:

  1. Press the YELLOW button on the remote to open the Vibe.fyi player app settings.

    When using the LG remote, use the arrow keys or press the YELLOW button to navigate to each setting.  Use the OK button select a setting.
  2. Update the app settings: 
    NB: Haven't received app settings? Contact support@vibe.fyi 
    1. Contegro Site URL - enter the supplied URL 
    2. Enter username and password - Uncheck this setting
    3. Auth Code - enter the supplied unique code
      NB: Each screen/device must use a unique code. If you require additional codes, please contact support@vibe.fyi
    4. Portrait Mode - If the screen orientation is 'Portrait', turn this setting on (although it is preferable that this setting be updated as part of the TV settings).
    5. Minutes between syncs - Default = 5. Leave setting as is or adjust to suit
    6. Seconds between info bar syncs - Default = 30. Leave setting as is or adjust to suit
    7. Disable Information Bar - Leave setting off by default; unless a request to disable the info bar has been received.
  3. When all app settings have been entered correctly, press [SAVE AND SYNC] to start downloading content.
  4. Press the BLUE button on the remote to check the logs to see if slides downloaded successfully.
