Install Guide for Philips (Android) Browser app

Supported Philips models

Purchase one of the following supported Philips Signage Solutions models (Powered by Android):

  1. D-Line series (e.g. XXBDL4050D/00)

First-time setup

  1. Slide the remote sensor down (until you hear the click sound) to have better remote control performance and easily observe the power status. It is located at the rear of the tv in the bottom left corner.

  2. Use the remote to power on the Philips display and follow the first time setup wizard:
    LanguageChoose your preferred language, then select [Start]
    Network SettingsChoose WIFI or Ethernet
    If using a fixed connection, plug the ethernet cable in and select [SKIP]. For wireless, choose an available network, enter the password and select [NEXT]
    Choose DHCP unless you have a Static IP
    Signage Display SettingsSelect [SKIP]
    Clone Media files into internalSelect [SKIP]
    Select [FINISH]
  3. Accept the CMND & DEPLOY terms and conditions
    Use remote to scroll to the bottom, tick the I accept checkbox and select [Continue]
    SKIP to step 2.4 in the "Install using onscreen tools" section below

Install the Vibe Browser app

To launch your interactive touchscreen (or Electronic Document Library), please download and install the Digital Signage app on your Philips System-On-Chip (Android) display.

Install using CMND&Deploy app (recommended)

We recommend using a Wireless (USB) Keyboard & Mouse to perform this operation. Plug the USB receiver into the USB port.
  1. Power on the Philips commercial display
  2. Launch the CMND&Deploy app:
    1. To enter Admin Mode, press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” 
    2. Choose Apps

    3. In the Apps menu, choose CMND&Deploy
    4. In the address bar
      1. Remove https://
      2. Enter the full URL - http://console.vibe.fyi/downloads/philips/apps/vibebrowser.zip
      3. Select GO
      4. It will starts a download wait for it to finish
  3. Navigate to and open the File Manager
    1. Open the 'sdcard' folder
    2. Open 'Download' folder
    3. Open the 'vibebrowser.zip' file and click OK to extract the app files
    4. When the files have extracted successfully, open the vibebrowser.apk file and click [INSTALL]
    5. When the app is successfully installed, choose [DONE]
    6. Push the Return/Back button on the remote until you return to the Apps menu
    7. Select [Vibe Browser] and push OK on the remote to open the app
  1. When the Vibe Browser app settings appear onscreen, enter the custom URL provided via email and select [SAVE] to launch your interactive (touchscreen) site.

Install using Chromium

  1. Power on the Philips commercial display
  2. To launch Chromium:
    1. Enter Admin Mode - press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” on the remote
    2. Choose Apps

    3. In the Apps menu, choose Chromium
  3. In the address bar:
    1. Enter the URL - http://console.vibe.fyi/downloads/philips/apps/vibebrowser.zip
    2. Select Enter
  4. When the file has successfully downloaded, push the return/back button on the remote to return to the Apps menu
  5. Navigate to and open the File Manager
    1. Open the 'sdcard' folder
    2. Open 'Download' folder
    3. Open the 'vibebrowser.zip' file and click OK to extract the app files
    4. When the files have extracted successfully, open the vibebrowser.apk file and click [INSTALL]
    5. When the app is successfully installed, choose [DONE]
    6. Push the Return/Back button on the remote until you return to the Apps menu
    7. Select [Vibe Browser] and push OK on the remote to open the app
  6. When the Vibe Browser app settings appear onscreen, enter the custom URL provided via email and select [SAVE] to launch your interactive (touchscreen) site.

Install using a USB drive

Alert
We recommend using a Wireless (USB) Keyboard & Mouse to perform this operation. Plug the USB receiver into the USB port.
  1. Create a new folder on your USB drive:
    1. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer and create a new MNT folder.
    2. Download the latest app version from http://console.vibe.fyi/downloads/philips/apps/vibebrowser.zip
    3. When the download is complete, eject your USB flash drive.
  2. Install the Vibe Browser app (APK file) on your Philips display
    1. Power on the Philips commercial display
    2. Plug the USB drive into the USB input
    3. To locate the APK file on your USB drive:
      1. To enter Admin Mode, press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” 
      2. Choose Apps

      3. Navigate to the File Manager and:
        1. Open the MNT > usb_storage folder
        2. Locate the app.apk file on your USB drive, push OK on the remote and select [OPEN]
          NB: If you see a 'Folder permission' error onscreen, move your USB drive to another USB port
        3. Choose [INSTALL]
        4. When the app is successfully installed, choose [DONE]
        5. Push the Return button on the remote until you return to the Apps menu
        6. Select [Digital Signage] and push OK on the remote to open the app
    4. When the Vibe Browser app settings appear onscreen, enter the custom URL provided via email and select [SAVE] to launch your interactive (touchscreen) site.

Load Vibe Browser app on startup

  1. Power on the Philips commercial display
  2. To launch Admin Mode - press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” on the remote
  3. Open Settings
  4. Open Signage Display > Custom app
  5. Highlight Select App and press OK on the remote
  6. Choose Vibe Browser
  7. Select Save
  8. To test that the app will autostart, push the Source button on the remote, select Custom and push [OK]
  9. To set Custom as the default source when the screen is powered on:
    1. Push the Home button on the remote
    2. Navigate to Configuration 1
    3. Open Boot on source and select Action

    4. Choose Custom
    5. Push the Return button on the remote to exit the menu
    6. Power off the display, wait 10-15 seconds
    7. Power on the display and wait for the Digital Signage app to run
