Firmware - Check/upgrade

Philips D-Line displays are powered by Android and they have two firmware versions - Scalar & Android

Android

Check current firmware version

Using the remote:
  1. Power on the Philips commercial display
  2. To enter Admin Mode, press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” 
  3. In Admin mode, open Settings

  4. Open About to view the Build Number

Upgrade firmware remotely

The Philips display needs to be powered, connected to a wired or wireless network connection and currently running the Vibe.fyi player app.
  1. Login to the admin console
  2. Open Remote Management

  3. Search for and open your device

    If the Vibe.fyi player app has not been set up correctly, your device will not appear in the remote connection list. Please refer to the manual Android upgrade steps below
  4. In the Device Management window, open the Run A Command dropdown and select Update firmware
  5. Select YES to confirm the upgrade#
TIP: Use the 'Slide Logs' to monitor the upgrade

Upgrade firmware manually

USB storage device and the Philips remote are required. We also recommend using a wired or wireless keyboard/mouse.
If you are not able to establish a remote connection to your Philips display (via the admin console), please manually update the Android version:
  1. Download the android firmware version 11.04 onto a USB storage device
  2. Plug the USB storage device into an available USB port on your Philips display
  3. Using the remote:
    1. Power on the Philips commercial display
    2. To enter Admin Mode, press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8”
    3. In Admin mode, open Settings
    4. When you are viewing the Settings options onscreen, plug the USB Storage device into the USB port at the rear of the display
    5. Using the remote, navigate to About > System updates
    6. Choose the update file from the list and press OK on the remote

      Note: The monitor will reboot to perform the update and reboot again when the operation is finished.
    7. On reboot, press in sequence “Home 1 8 8 8” to enter Admin Mode
  4. In Admin mode
    1. Open Settings
    2. Select System Tools
    3. Select  Factory Reset  and press  Factory Reset
      This operation will bring all the Android settings to factory default and delete all the downloaded files and apps. 2) This operation is needed to complete the upgrade procedure and ensure the correct functioning of the unit.

Scalar/Scaler

IMPORTANT: Philips D-Line series displays do not currently support remote upgrading of the Scalar (SW) firmware upgrades.  This upgrade must be carried out manually. Contact our support team for more information on upgrading the Scalar firmware.

Check SW/Firmware version remotely

Admin console login required

  1. Login to the admin console (e.g. https://sitename.vibe.fyi/admin)
  2. Open Remote Management

  3. Search for and open your device
    Note: If the Digital Signage app has not been set up correctly, your device will not appear in the remote connection list. Please use the 'Check Onscreen' steps below.

  4. In the Device Management window, scroll down to Other to locate the (Scalar SW) Firmware Version

Check SW/Firmware version manually

Compatible Philips remote required.

  1. Using the remote, power the Philips D-Line display on
  2. Push  Home on the remote:
    1. In the menu, select Configuration 2

    2. Open Monitor Information to view the SW version

      Monitor information - Shows information about your display, including model number, serial number, operating hours and software version.
