Setup Guide - Microsoft Teams Room (MTR)

This guide provides detailed steps for configuring Vibe to work on Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) devices. Follow the instructions below to ensure proper setup and optimal functionality.

The Custom URL option is available on Windows MTR devices only.

Setup Steps

Vibe Administrator

Step 1: Create a Vibe Web Browser licence

Each meeting room display requires a unique Vibe Web Browser license. 
  1. In your Vibe Admin Console, open the Licence Manager and create a new location.
  2. Select Web Browser in the Location Type dropdown then click [Save Location].
  3. Save the location.
  4. Share the Web Browser URL(s) with your Microsoft 365 Global Admin / Teams Rooms Pro Manager for use in Step 4 (below).

Step 2 - Set Digital Signage Tenant Management Permissions

  1. Enable, disable, or reset digital signage for the tenant.
  2. Add or delete signage sources.
  3. Assign sources and settings to rooms or room groups.
  4. Set default signage settings for the tenant.

Step 3 - Set Digital Signage Room Management Permissions

  1. Enable, disable, or reset signage for a specific room.
  2. Select and modify signage sources and settings for a room.

Step 4 - Add Vibe Web Browser URL

  1. Navigate to the Digital Signage Tenant Management page and click Add source.
  2. Enter a unique name and description for the signage source.
  3. Select Next and choose Custom as the source type.
  4. Enter the Web URL generated from the Vibe Admin console (refer to step 1 above).
  5. Acknowledge the terms of use and complete the configuration by selecting Submit.

Step 5 - Assign Signage Sources and Settings

Ensure the MTR device is onlineconnected, and signed into the Teams Rooms app to apply settings.
5.1 Tenant-Level Assignment
  1. From the Digital Signage Tenant Management page, choose a signage source and select Assign to rooms.
  2. Review or modify signage settings as needed.
  3. Select the rooms or room groups where the signage will be applied.
  4. Confirm settings and apply changes immediately or during the maintenance window.
5.2 Room-Level Assignment
  1. Navigate to the specific room's settings in the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal.
  2. Enable Digital Signage in the settings.
  3. Choose a signage source and adjust the settings.
  4. Apply changes and select when to configure the room.
Info
After restarting a room, it takes approximately 10–15 minutes for the Teams Rooms Pro Management agent to reconnect.
