Why use Screen Takeover?
Screen Takeover is ideal for moments that deserve everyone’s attention:
- Livestream company events – Town Halls, CEO updates, or all-hands meetings.
- Push urgent updates – IT outages, building alerts, last-minute announcements.
- Highlight key campaigns – Wellness weeks, safety drives, or policy launches.
Once scheduled, Vibe automatically broadcasts your slide to the selected channels. No playlist changes needed.

Priority & overrides
Screen Takeover overrides regular
playlists, schedules, and standard info bar alerts.
All changes are auto-saved. No manual publishing required.
Tips for success
- If your takeover includes a livestream (YouTube, Zoom, etc.), follow the Livestream Setup Guide first to ensure smooth playback.
- Test with a short takeover first to confirm display behaviour.
- Keep your slides visually bold and concise. They’ll be the only thing on screen!
- For livestreams, start your broadcast a few minutes early to ensure seamless playback.
- Start 1–2 minutes before your event or livestream begins.
- End 2–3 minutes after to account for overruns or delays.
- Keep the duration focused (under 30 minutes) unless it’s a live broadcast.
- Avoid overlapping multiple takeovers to prevent conflicts.
Set up a Screen Takeover
1. Open or create your slide
You can start a takeover from an existing slide or by creating a new one. Then:
- Open your slide in the Vibe portal.
- Go to the Attributes tab.
- Enable the Advanced Schedule toggle.
- Tick the Screen Takeover checkbox.

Your slide is now ready to be scheduled and injected onscreen at the time you choose.
2. Set your takeover schedule
Your schedule determines when and for how long your takeover appears.
Pro tip: For multi-site organisations, test your first takeover in one or two locations to confirm timing before rolling it out widely.
Option 1 – One-time takeover
Perfect for time-sensitive or event-based messages. Use this option to set one or more specific dates and times for your takeover to run (e.g. schedule your takeover at 1pm and 3pm on the same day, or repeat on multiple selected dates.
Setting | Required Y/N |

Option 2 – Recurring takeover
Best for takeovers that repeat on a regular basis. Use this option to set a recurring schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or specific dates) so your takeover automatically runs at the same time, without needing to reschedule it each time.
| Setting | Required Y/N |
| Recurring Setting | Y Choose your recurring frequency: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly or Specific Dates. |
| All Day | N Optional - Uncheck the All Day tickbox to set specific start and end time or run multiple sessions in a single day. Try to use the All Day option sparingly to avoid fatigue. |
| + Add Time | N Optional - Set multiple times for the takeover to occur. |

3. Choose your locations

You’re all set! Your Screen Takeover will now trigger automatically and broadcast your slide across your chosen locations.
IMPORTANT
- All changes are autosaved in the slide editor.
- Once you set the location(s), your slide will be automatically injected at the exact time you've stated.
- You do not need to add this slide to a playlist or schedule to start publishing.
- Screen takeovers are not supported in Lock screen and Desktop Background channels.
