Livestream

Livestream

In addition to YouTube and Zoom (below), we continually seek free-to-air livestreams on TV channels that have a publicly accessible URL and do not require an account login. We will keep all Vibe customers informed about any future additions.
Remember Vibe's Live TV Infotainment slide! One of the Live TV Channels available, maybe broadcasting an event you are wishing to show on Vibe ยป Live TV Infotainment
To circumvent the need for logins to TV providers, which typically involve substantial licensing fees running into tens of thousands (paid by each client paying the TV provider), Vibe does not intend to pursue an integration for this feature.

YouTube

Step 1: Locate the livestream on YouTube.com

Livestreams or pre-recorded YouTube videos must be free to air with a publicly accessible URL (no login).
  • Go to youtube.com and open your livestream or pre-recorded video
  • Copy the YouTube Video ID in the address bar

Step 2: Create a Livestream slide in your Vibe.fyi portal

  • In the slide manager (Slides), create a new slide and select the 'Live Stream' template
  • In the Use Content From dropdown, select 'YouTube Live Stream'
  • In the YouTube Video ID field, paste the YouTube Video ID (from step 1)

Step 3: Setup a schedule to auto publish your slide

  • Before adding the slide to a playlist, update the following attributes:
    • Duration (required): Set the total video duration in seconds.
    • Advanced Schedule: Set the start date to the time that you want to start publishing the slide, ensuring that the YouTube livestream is live at the time selected e.g.

Step 4: Update/check your 'playlists' and screen 'on/off timers'

To make your sure your slide goes live at the scheduled time, remember to add the slide to one or more playlists ahead of time.

Zoom

If you're using Zoom for your next webinar or livestream event, read the Zoom article below to learn how you can connect the webinar to YouTube.

When your public or unlisted YouTube livestream ID is setup, add a YouTube livestream slide.

Considerations

  1. Certain Livestream Video links will not work on LG WebOS2 devices.
  2. If you reuse this slide for subsequent livestreams, remember to adjust the duration and publish dates.
  3. HTTP Live Streaming (HLS): This is the most widely used protocol for live streaming on the web and is well-supported by WebOS UH5 TVs. Look for files with the ".m3u8" extension.
