Supported models
If you have purchased one of the following supported Samsung digital signage models, please use the setup steps below:
- Tizen OS v4.0, 5.0, 5.5
& 6.0 –
QBR | QBN | QMR | QMT | QET | QBT | SHR | KMA | OMB | OHA | SSB-SS08N
- Tizen OS v6.5 –
QBB | QMB | QHB | QEC | WMB | OHB
- Tizen 7.0 - QBC | QMC | QHC
First time setup
Screen orientation
IMPORTANT: If mounting a portrait screen, you must rotate the screen clockwise and ensure that the right hand side is facing downwards. If the screen is mounted correctly, the Samsung badge will be on the left hand side.
Connect to network
- Using the Samsung remote, power the screen on and open the Samsung menu
Navigate to Network > Open Network Settings and choose one of the options below:
Fixed (recommended) - Plug your ethernet cable in and select [Yes] to setup a wired network
WiFi - Select the 'Wireless' option, choose your wifi network, enter the password and select the [Go] button on the onscreen keyboard or hit Enter/Return on your USB wireless keyboard
Set local time
This will ensure that any content or screen timers are activated at the correct time.
- Using the Samsung remote, power the screen on and open the Samsung menu
- Navigate to System > Time > NTP Settings and configure the following:
- Network Time Protocol = Use
- Server URL - Enter the NTP server URL for your timezone
(e.g. for New Zealand, you would enter nz.pool.ntp.org) - Time Zone - Select your timezone
- Select [Save]
Disable default power saving features
Adjust the default Samsung power saving features to prevent your digital signage screen from turning off at unscheduled times.
- Using the Samsung remote, power the screen on and open the Samsung menu
- Navigate to System > Power control and set all of the following options to OFF:
- Auto power on
- Max power saving
- Standby configuration
- Remote configuration
- Navigate to System > Eco Solution* or Power and Energy Saving* and set all of the following options to OFF:
- Energy Saving Mode* or Brightness Reduction*
- Screen Lamp Schedule
- No Signal Power Off
- Auto Power Off
*Setting labels vary according to your Tizen OS version
Vibe.fyi player app - Install & setup
Navigate to System > Play Via and select
URL Launcher* or
Custom App*
OR
Download app
- Press the Home button on the remote and select App Management
(If you are not able to see the App Management after changing the Custom app in System. You may have to go through start up process again. Click on the Menu > System > Start Setup Default password is 00000. Follow the install setup, you can skip most of the steps if its already completed)
- Select Install Custom App* or Install Web App*
- Enter the Vibe.fyi player app download URL for your Samsung Tizen version:
- LEGACY (Tizen 4.0, 5.0, 5.5 & 6.0) - https://download.vibe.fyi/samsung/legacy
OR - FULL (Tizen 6.5 and above) - https://download.vibe.fyi/samsung
- Select GO and wait for the screen automatically restart* OR use the remote to power your screen off and on again
*Setting labels and auto restart vary according to your Tizen OS version
To complete the steps below, you will need your unique Vibe.fyi player app site URL and auth code. Each screen/device must use a unique code. If you have not received these details or your require additional auth codes, please contact your Vibe support team or email
support@vibe.fyi.
After a successful download and restart of your screen, the Vibe.fyi player app settings will launch automatically. If, for any reason, the Vibe.fyi player app settings do not open automatically after restarting your screen, press the YELLOW button on the remote to open the settings manually.
- In the Vibe.fyi player app settings:
- Site URL (required) - Enter the unique site URL provided by your Vibe support team
- Enter username and password (tickbox)- Uncheck this setting to display the Auth code field below
- Auth code (required) - Enter the unique auth code provided for this device
- Minutes between syncs - Use this setting to control the sync frequency (i.e how often updates/changes are downloaded from Vibe cloud). Recommend using the default setting (5 minutes) or you can adjust to suit.
- Seconds between info bar syncs - Default = 30 (seconds). Leave setting as is or adjust to suit
- Disable Information Bar - Leave setting off by default; unless a request to disable the info bar has been received.
- Select [SAVE AND SYNC] to start downloading the playlist or schedule assigned to this device.
Install Tips
Using the Samsung remote
- To open the Vibe.fyi player app logs - Press the BLUE button on the remote
- To open the Vibe.fyi player app settings - Press the YELLOW button on the remote
Troubleshooting
Resolve 'Get auth token' log error
App not syncing or downloading? If the auth code you've entered is confirmed as correct, check the System > Time > NTP Settings. The timezone and date/time must be accurate in order for the app to function correctly
To help with troubleshooting, you may need to access details such as the Samsung model or software version. You can find this information by pusing Menu on the TV remote and selecting Support > Contact Samsung.
