Windows Install Guide: Desktop Player (Single PC Install)

Prerequisites

  1. IT / Vibe Admin
    1. Create the Desktop Channel licences for your Screensaver, Background Wallpaper, Lock Screen or Web Browser.
  2. Internal Comms:
    1. Follow the Desktop Channel content & playlist setup steps (before running the Vibe Desktop Player app)

Installation

  1. Download and run the Vibe Desktop Player installer file (VibeDesktopPlayerSetup.exe) provided by Vibe Support team
  2. Vibe Desktop Player Setup Wizard:
    1. Step 1: Click Start

      NB: If you are not an admin and are prompted for user account control permission, please allow it before proceeding to the next step.
    2. Check and update the following settings as needed, then click Install.
      NB: If you are running and older Vibe Screensaver version on your PC, the Wait time and On resume, display logon screen settings will auto-populate.

    3. Click Finish

    4. Click Restart

    5. After your device restarts, open the Vibe Desktop Player and add Lock screen, Background Wallpaper, Screensaver credentials. Select the options that you wish to enable and enter credentials.

      Note
      :  After opening of the Vibe Desktop Player, it will minimize to the System Tray when left unfocused in over a minute.
       

Custom Logo

IdeaTo use a custom logo, apply the SS_Logo switch during MSI deployment, or follow the manual steps outlined below after installation.

Logo Design Guidelines

Create your logo as a transparent PNG file and save it as logo.png.
  1. The custom logo should be a square PNG file with a maximum size of 567 x 567 px and a transparent background.
  2. For reference, the default Vibe logo measures 567 x 158 px.
Option 1: Default Folder
Manually copy the logo.png file to the following directory:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\VibeScreensaver\custom\

Option 2: Custom Folder Location
If you prefer a custom location for the logo, set it using the following registry value:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VibeScreenSaver\CustomLogo

This can be done either manually or via Group Policy.
