Pre-install Checklist
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Install Checklist
Input devices
A wireless (USB) keyboard and mouse (recommended, especially for first-time setup).
Vibe.fyi details
Your Site URL and Auth Code.
If you don’t have these, contact your Vibe administrator or the Vibe Support team.
TV remote
An LG TV remote controller for the screen you’re installing.
Supported Models
If you have purchased one of the following supported LG digital signage devices, use the setup steps in this article.
LG webOS Commercial Displays
webOS 6.0 UH5, SM5J, UL3J series
- webOS 4.1 UH5F, UM3F series
- webOS 4.0 SM5KE Series
- webOS 3.2 / WebOS 3+ SM5KD Series
LG Physical Media Players
- WP400 (WebOS 4.0)
- WP402 (WebOS 4.2)
- WP600 (WebOS 6.0)

First-time LG setup
Commercial Displays
Use these steps for LG Commercial Screens (SoC displays).
- Prepare the screen
- Remove the badge from the base of the screen (screwdriver required).
- For portrait installations (latest models), orient the screen Right Side Down (rotate clockwise).
- Open the LG settings
- Using the LG remote, power the screen on.
- Press Settings on the remote to open the LG menu.
- Configure Network
In General > Network, choose one of the following: - Fixed (recommended) – Plug in the Ethernet cable.
- WiFi – Open General > Network and connect to a strong WiFi network.
- 3G/4G – Plug a USB dongle with an active SIM card into a USB port.
- Note: When using a USB device, open the LG Admin settings (default PIN is usually 0000 or 00000 ) and enable the USB Lock option.
- Configure Date & Time
- Go to General > Date & Time.
- Set the correct Timezone
- e.g. Oceania > New Zealand > Auckland.
- Turn Set Automatically ON.
- Adjust picture and power settings
- White Balance: Set to Mall/QSR.
- Power / Brightness (High Bright screens only):
- Open General > Power > Brightness and select AUTO.
- (Optional) Add an On/Off schedule
- Press Settings on the remote.
- Open EZ Settings and locate On/Off Scheduler.
- Set timers as needed, e.g.:
- For a daily restart, set an Off timer at 3:00am and an On timer at 3:05am.

The
date and time must be correctly set according to the
screen’s location. If not configured correctly,
content scheduling and
screen timers will not work as expected.
LG Digital Signage WebOS box
Use these steps for an LG Digital Signage webOS Box (media player).
- Connect the hardware
- Remove the box from the packaging and connect:
- Power cable
- HDMI cable
- To the HDMI port on the box and HDMI 1 on the display
- Remote sensor to the IR IN port
- LAN cable (if not using WiFi)
- Open the LG settings
- Using the LG remote, power the display on.
- Press Settings to open the LG menu.
- Configure Network
- In General > Network, choose one of:
- Fixed (recommended) – Plug in the Ethernet cable.
- WiFi – Open General > Network and connect to a strong WiFi network.
- 3G/4G – Plug a USB dongle with an active SIM card into a USB port.
- Note: When using a USB device, open the LG Admin settings (default PIN is usually 0000 or 00000 ) and enable the USB Lock option.
- Configure Date & Time
- Go to General > Date & Time.
- Set the correct timezone for your screen location.
- e.g. for New Zealand: Oceania > New Zealand > Auckland
- Turn Set Automatically ON.
The date and time must be correctly set according to the screen’s location. If not configured correctly, content scheduling and screen timers will not work as expected.
Alternative installation – USB Storage (Offline IPK)
If you can’t install via network, you can install the Vibe.fyi player app using a USB storage device.
- Prepare the USB drive
- Plug the USB drive into your computer.
- Create a new folder named Application on the USB drive.
- Download the latest app version from: https://download.vibe.fyi/webos/app.ipk
and save it into the Application folder.

- When the download is complete, safely eject the USB drive.
- Install from USB on the LG screen
- Insert the USB drive into a USB port on your LG webOS screen.
- Using the remote, power the display on.
- Open EZ Settings > SI Server Settings.
- Set:
- Application Launch Mode = Local
- Application Type = IPK
- Local Application Upgrade = USB

- Select Confirm to start the install.
- Restart and launch
- When the installation is complete, use the remote to power the screen off and then on.
- Wait a few seconds for the Vibe.fyi app to launch.
Download & install the Vibe.fyi player app (webOS)
- Read the Install Checklist – Hardware & Network Requirements.
- Complete the relevant First-time LG setup steps above.
- Have your webOS IPK download URL ready.
- Disable any Play via URL setting on the screen.

To set up your workplace digital signage, you’ll install the Vibe.fyi player app on your LG SoC display or media player.
- Open SI Server Settings
- Press the Settings (
) button on the LG remote. - Open EZ Settings.
- Select SI Server Setting.

- Configure SI Server Settings
On the SI Server Setting page, apply the following: - Fully Qualified Domain Name – Turn ON and enter the webOS IPK download URL:
https://download.vibe.fyi/webos/app.ipk?[your site]&[Authcode]
(You can find this in the Admin Console – see related article.)

Important: Make sure there are no spaces in the Site URL or Auth code.
Note: If you were given a custom download URL, use that instead.
- Application Launch Mode – Select Local
- File/Application Type – Select IPK
- Local Application Upgrade – Select Remote
- Select Confirm to start the download.

- Complete the install
- After a successful download & install, select OK.

- Use the LG remote to restart the TV (power off, then on).
- Check logs (optional but recommended)
- Press the BLUE button on the remote to open the logs and confirm that slides have downloaded successfully.

- If you are using a keyboard:
- Press F2 to access logs (Blue button)
- Press F4 to access Vibe settings (Yellow button)
- Advanced commands (optional)
- If you need to update the firmware or app version, open Advanced Commands in the app and select the appropriate option.
