QR Code

QR codes are the square barcode images you scan with your phone. In Vibe templates, they can link viewers to online content, event pages, or forms—quickly and easily.

Ways to Add QR Codes to Vibe

1) Upload a Static QR Code Image

  • Open your Vibe template editor and go to the Resources tab.
  • Click Add Content to open the Resources/Content screen.
  • Upload your pre-made QR code image (600 x 600 px is best).
  • Add QR Code Heading and caption then Save
  • Go to your Content list, In the Content’s Resource drop-down, select the newly created QR Code.

Notes
Pros: Quick and reliable. No dependence on the internet at render time.
Cons: If the destination changes, you’ll need a new image.

2) Generate a QR Code from a URL (Dynamic)

  • Open your Vibe template editor
  • Select Resources tab, click Add Content
  • Toggle Generate QR Code from URL and input your URL
  • Add QR Code Heading and caption then Save
  • Go to your content list, In the Content’s Resource drop-down, select the newly created QR Code.

3) Enable QR Code for Viva Engage - Social Templates

  1. Open your Social Solo or Social Fullscreen template in the editor.
  2. Ensure you’re editing a social template that uses Viva Engage as the Content Source.
  3. Go to the Elements tab.
  4. Look for a toggle labeled “QR Code” (visible only when the Viva Engage content stream is active).
  5. Toggle it on to display a dynamic QR code on the slide.

  • How to use: Create a QR code with customization options, download as PNG, then upload to Vibe as a static QR image (600 x 600 px recommended).

Tips for tools:

  • Aim for a square image and 600 x 600 px size to ensure good readability.
  • Use high-contrast colors (black on white) and keep a clear quiet zone around the code.
  • If you need to track scans, use a URL with tracking parameters (UTM tags) when you generate the code.
  • Place it on a plain background; avoid busy artwork behind the code.
  • If people can’t scan it, also show the URL as text nearby.

Quick-start checklist

  • Decide static vs dynamic: does the destination change often?
  • For uploaded codes, use 600 x 600 px.
  • Test with different phones in different lighting.
  • Add a short text link as a backup just in case.
