QR Codes

QR Codes

Vibe lets viewers move instantly from what they see on screen to something they can do on their own device with QC-code-compatible templates. No long URLs, no searching, no follow-up emails. With a quick scan, people can open a link, give feedback, access resources, or continue the experience beyond the screen — without breaking attention or flow.

This guide explains how to add and manage QR codes in Vibe so they’re easy to scan, easy to understand, and effective on digital signage.

When to use QR Codes

  1. Prompt immediate action from screens (surveys, forms, links)
  2. Extend on-screen content to mobile for deeper engagement
  3. Share links quickly in high-traffic or shared spaces
  4. Track engagement by linking to URLs with tracking parameters

You can add QR codes in Vibe in three ways:

1) Upload a pre-designed QR code image to the Resources tab

Notes
Pros & Cons: Reliable and on-brand, and there's no dependence on the internet at render time. But remember, if the destination URL of the QR Code changes, you’ll need a new image.
  1. Open a QR Code-compatible template and open the Resources tab.
  2. Click Add Content to open the Resources/Content popup screen.
  3. Upload a pre-designed QR code image (600 x 600 px is best).
  4. Add a Heading and other relevant content caption, then Save.
  5. Go to your Content list, from the drop-down field, select the relevant Resource (that contains the QR Code).

2) Generate a dynamic QR code directly from a URL

Notes
Pros & Cons: This option is quick and reliable. But remember, if the destination URL of the QR Code changes, you’ll need to re-enter the content.
  • Open a compatible Vibe template and open the Resources tab.
  • Click Add Content to open the Resources/Content popup screen.
  • Toggle Generate QR Code from URL and input your URL
  • Add QR Code Heading and caption then Save
  • Go to your content list, In the Content’s Resource drop-down, select the newly created QR Code.

3) Enable QR Code for Viva Engage

Notes
Pros and Cons: This is a full set-and-forget content option with Viva Engage Integration, but its currently applicable to the Social Solo and Social Fullscreen templates only.
  1. Start a slide using the Social Solo or Social Fullscreen template in the editor.
  2. Select Viva Engage as the Content Source.
  3. Go to the Elements tab.
  4. Look for a toggle labeled “QR Code” (visible only when the Viva Engage content stream is active).
  5. Toggle it on, to display a dynamic QR code for your Viva Engage content.

Option 1: Generate a QR code using a Chrome extension

  1. Install a third‑party Chrome extension that can create a QR code directly from any URL.
  2. Example: Quick QR Code

Option 2: Create a pre‑designed QR code

  1. Use third‑party QR code design software to create customised or branded QR codes.
