System Requirements

System Requirements

This guide outlines the system requirements for deploying Vibe across your organisation. It covers access requirements for content creation and administration, supported player devices, network and security considerations, and the roles involved in managing and scaling your Vibe experience. The intent of this guide is to help IT teams, administrators, and content creators quickly assess compatibility, plan deployments with confidence, and ensure Vibe runs reliably across single screens or large, multi-location environments.
Notes
Vibe supports digital signage screens, meeting room displays, screensavers, browser-based playback, and shared display environments across offices, campuses, and remote locations.

Platform Access (Portal & Admin Console)

Vibe is fully browser-based, so there’s no client software to install for content creation or administration. Using modern browsers ensures full compatibility with all Vibe features. Administrators and content creators can log in from Windows and macOS, while maintaining secure access with strong authentication and role-based permissions.
Key points:
  1. Supported browsers: Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox (latest versions)
  2. Internet access required with outbound HTTPS/TLS
  3. Role-based access ensures content creators and administrators see only what they need
Info
We recommend enabling Two-factor Authentication for all users to enhance security.

Vibe Player Requirements (Digital Signage)

Vibe Players render your content on screens. Depending on your setup, you can deploy Windows MSI players, LG webOS displays, or a hybrid mix. Each device type has minimum specs to ensure smooth playback and reliable updates.

Windows Player (MSI Deployment)

Windows MSI players are ideal for organizations standardizing on Windows PCs. The MSI package installs the Vibe Player app, allowing IT teams to manage updates centrally. Devices should meet minimum hardware specifications for smooth playback of video, graphics, and live feeds.
  • OS: Windows 10 or 11 (latest updates)
  • Permissions: Admin rights required for initial install
  • Hardware (recommended minimum): Modern CPU, 8 GB RAM, 5–10 GB free storage
  • Network: Persistent outbound internet access

WebOS Displays

WebOS displays are purpose-built screens for digital signage, delivering consistent performance for high-uptime. Vibe supports modern commercial-grade webOS screens and provides a streamlined deployment path via the approved app distribution method.
  • Device: Supported webOS commercial displays
  • webOS version: Must meet Vibe’s minimum supported version
  • Deployment: Vibe Player app installed via approved methods
  • Display considerations: HD resolution or higher; commercial-grade panels recommended

Mixed / Hybrid Environments

Many organizations combine Windows MSI players, LG webOS displays, and BYOD devices. Vibe supports these mixed environments, but centralized management (MDM) is recommended to maintain consistent updates, policies, and monitoring across all devices.

BYOD devices should meet recommended performance specifications to handle video, graphics, and interactive templates smoothly. Adequate storage, GPU support, and stable power ensure content displays without interruption, even during network fluctuations.
  • Screen resolution & aspect ratio: HD 1920x1080 minimum recommendation
  • Video & media: Devices should support H.264/H.265 decoding; GPU acceleration recommended for video walls
  • Local storage: Minimum 5–10 GB for cached templates and media
  • Power & uptime: Stable power; consider UPS for critical displays
  • Video with audio: devices must have audio output enabled and not muted at OS level

Network & Security

Reliable network connectivity and secure configuration are essential for smooth content delivery and portal access. Vibe Players cache content to maintain playback if temporarily offline, while admins can configure firewalls and proxies to allow traffic to Vibe’s servers.
  • Time synchronisation: Devices should use automatic system time or NTP
  • Traffic: Outbound HTTPS access to Vibe servers and CDNs
  • Firewall/proxy: Outbound access required; some enterprise proxies may need configuration
  • Encryption: All portal traffic secured via TLS
  • Bandwidth: Ensure sufficient for video/live feeds; cached content reduces usage
  • VPN & segmentation: Consider separating signage traffic from core corporate network

Governance, Monitoring & Scalability

Vibe supports single-location to multi-location deployments. Reports and logs allow administrators to track uptime, content updates, and system performance. Planning for scalability ensures consistent performance as networks grow.
  • Administrators are responsible for device setup and network configuration
  • Content creators are responsible for content accuracy, scheduling, and brand alignment.
  • Multi-location deployments require bandwidth planning
  • Admins can monitor playback and content via the Admin Console and Portal
  • Regular audits help maintain content accuracy, compliance, and system health
  • Establish approval workflows for major change management or global updates
  • Player updates and OS updates remain the responsibility your (the customer’s) IT team
