Remote Device Management (SoC)

Remote Device Management (SoC)

Remote Device Management allows administrators to control and update devices without needing physical access. This includes managing both Vibe player app settings and supported system-level settings on LG (WebOS) and Samsung (Tizen) displays.

Remote management is particularly useful when:

  • A device needs to be rebooted or resynced
  • Settings need to be updated across multiple screens
  • Troubleshooting requires log access or screenshots
  • Physical access to the screen is not available
Alert
Devices must be online to receive commands.
Info
This is a powerful tool for maintaining network consistency and resolving issues remotely.

Accessing the manager

To manage a device:

  1. Go to Devices > Remote Management

  2. Select a device
  3. Click the Edit icon
  4. Add a friendly name for your device
  5. Use the Run a command dropdown to view and send available commands to the Vibe.fyi player app or the device system settings
  6. View Device and Vibe.fyi player app details on the right-hand side

Understanding device information

The Device Manager is essential for diagnosing issues and confirming configuration, and it provides a detailed view of each screen, including:
  • Network configuration and connection status
  • Vibe player app settings
  • Display settings such as picture and orientation
  • On/off timer schedules
  • Firmware version and uptime
  • Device logs (latest 50 entries available via support)

Sending remote commands

Remote commands allow you to perform actions such as:
  • Rebooting the device
  • Syncing or re-downloading content
  • Updating app or firmware
  • Changing display orientation
  • Configuring network or app settings
  • Enabling or disabling USB access

Important usage notes

Commands should be sent carefully to avoid conflicts.

  • Always send one command at a time
  • Wait for confirmation in logs before sending another
  • Some commands (especially timers or settings updates) may take time to apply

Device-Specific Considerations

  1. Samsung devices running legacy Tizen versions have limited support for certain remote commands.
  2. For LG WebOS 6+ devices, it is especially important to apply settings updates individually and verify each one via logs.
